“In Search of Lost Time”

On January 10, the House of Polish Culture hosted the Christmas musical “In Search of Lost Time.” It was a joint project of children, teenagers, and adults, combining creative, educational, and organizational work within ArtLaboratorija “DramŠok.”
The artists sang, danced, and acted simultaneously - a format that requires serious preparation and concentration.
The performance was dedicated to the themes of time, responsibility, and caring for one another. The project was created as a living process in which the participants not only performed on stage but also took an active part in the preparation, organization, and accompaniment of the performance.

Musical and choreographic fairy tale “The Star Wanderer”

Based on Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's philosophical novel “The Little Prince”

“The Star Wanderer” is a poetic and visually captivating journey through the universe of The Little Prince, where music, dance, and movement merge into a single artistic canvas. The performance transports the viewer to a world where each planet becomes a metaphor for human values, and each character reflects inner searches and contradictions.

Plot:
The performance retains the key moments of the original story: the meeting of Rose, Fox, Snake, inhabitants of different planets, Pilot, and the Little Prince, their conversations about love, friendship, loneliness, usefulness, and the meaning of life. However, the emphasis here is on visual and musical interpretation. Through dance and movement, the characters are revealed: the selfish Rose, the tame friend Fox, the capricious King, the Ambitious Man, the lost Pilot, and others. Each planet becomes a separate choreographic etude, filled with symbolism and emotion.
Each encounter with a new character reveals new facets of our little hero's soul.

Music:
The musical part of the performance combines symphonic motifs, electronic sounds, and ethnic rhythms, creating the atmosphere of a cosmic journey. The leitmotif is the theme of loneliness and hope, the theme of eternal flight, which accompanies the Little Prince on his journey.

Choreography:
The choreography of the performance is a mixture of classical, contemporary dance, and acrobatics. The characters appear with various objects in their hands (barrels, sticks, poi, balls, stars), which they deftly juggle, control, and use to beat out rhythms. Each object that appears on stage seems to dance with our characters in the whirlwind of their stellar journey.
Each dance and each movement of the artists conveys not only the plot, but also the inner experiences of the characters.

Set design and visual effects:
The stage transforms into outer space and changes the setting, where stars, planets, and meteorites come to life thanks to the characters and lighting effects. The characters' costumes reflect different eras, emphasizing the connection between time and eternity.


The Idea:
“The Star Wanderer” is not just an adaptation of a well-known fairy tale, but a reflection on eternal questions: what does it mean to be human? How can we preserve our childlike purity? How can we find our place in the boundless universe? What does it mean to tame? What is love? What is care? What is trust and understanding?
The main themes of this performance are: “only the heart can see clearly” and “we are responsible for those we have tamed.”
Two big answers to a huge number of questions.

The performance will be interesting for both adults and children. It is suitable for those who appreciate deep philosophical themes expressed through the art of dance and music. For those who are open-hearted and ready to embark on a journey with a fearless little boy.
